Principal: Bryan Paslay
Mr. Paslay is 1993 graduate of West Iredell High School. He continued his education earning a Bachelor’s degree in History and receiving his secondary teaching certificate from University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Upon graduating he took a teaching/coaching position back at his alma mater. During this time at WIHS, he completed his Masters of Administration at Gardner Webb University. After serving 9 years in the classroom as a U.S. History teacher, he became the Freshman Academy Director of WIHS. He left West in 2010 to pursue a similar position at South Iredell High School. While working at SIHS, he implemented many positive changes that helped to make the school a North Carolina School of Distinction. Among being the school Focus Learning Community Director, he also held a district position overseeing the other 4FLC-directors at ISS high schools.
Mr. Paslay has been married for 15 years to his wife, Sarah. They have two children together, Caroline and Bryson. He has a love for football, especially for the Tennessee Volunteers and Dallas Cowboys.
Assistant Principal: Nikole Gaines
Nikole Gaines has been theTMS assistant principal since July 15, 2019. She was born and raised in Michigan. She continued her education at Central Michigan University and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a major in English and a minor in Mathematics. Upon graduating she accepted a middle school mathematics position and coached girls’ basketball in Indiana. Over the next couple of years, she received her Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Indiana Wesleyan University. After serving 8 years in the classroom, she became a Mathematics Facilitator at Martin Luther King, Jr. Middle School in Charlotte, NC. Ms. Gaines completed her Administration Leadership program at Gardner-Webb University and continued to lead a team of mathematics teachers through curriculum and instruction development. After moving to Mooresville, Ms. Gaines accepted a 6th grade math position at Troutman Middle School before leading staff and students in her role as assistant principal.
Ms. Gaines has two children, Ryan and Justin. She has a love for sports (Go Blue!), exercise, and helping others with nutrition.
